Rev. Paul Gant - Senior Pastor

Pastor
Paul Gant is the Senior Pastor of Sea Road Church. He grew up
in
South Portland, Maine, and studied at Gordon College where he majored
in Biblical and Theological Studies (B.A.). From there Paul
continued to pursue his calling to vocational ministry and earned his
Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Gordon-Conwell Theological
Seminary. Following his education, Paul received the
opportunity
to serve on staff for a two-year internship as the Assistant Pastor of
Youth and Family at Stroudwater Christian Church in Portland,
Maine.
In the summer of 2009, following the two-year
internship, Paul received the call to serve at Sea Road Church as the
Associate Pastor. During this time Paul worked
alongside
the Senior Pastor, Ken Hartwick, who was battling cancer at the
time. For the next 18 months Pastor Ken played a pivotal and
influential role in Pastor Paul’s life as a great mentor and
friend. In November of 2010, upon the recommendation of
Pastor
Ken, the Elders, and Sea Road Church, Paul was unanimously voted to
become the Senior Pastor of Sea Road Church.
Following
the installation service, Pastor Ken gave the charge to Pastor Paul and
on November 24th, 2010 Pastor Ken went home to be with the
Lord.
Paul says, “I will never forget the incredible role and impact that Ken
has played in my life preparing me for ministry. And even
more
importantly, I will never forget the way in which Ken always cared more
about the condition of my soul, then the success of my
ministry.
I only hope to continue the mission and vision that Ken has built into
Sea Road Church and to see this church grow and prosper, bearing much
fruit for the Kingdom, and bringing glory to God.”

Pastor Paul is married to Diana Gant. Both Paul and Diana
have a great
passion to live life to the fullest, seeking to do all things with a
view to God’s glory. They both enjoy the outdoors,
exercising, reading
a good book, and spending time with people.
Pastor Paul’s greatest
joy is to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel.
He says,
“There is no greater joy or purpose to be found then to intimately know
and to rejoice in the steadfast love of God, the transforming grace of
Christ, and the abiding fellowship of the Holy Spirit.” He
deeply
desires that the glory of knowing Christ as Lord and Savior would be
magnified in all things.
Pastor Paul is dedicated to
proclaiming the gospel, supremely revealed by the Holy Spirit, through
the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. “O that our
faith
would not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God,” (1 Cor.
2:5).
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the fellowship of the
Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14
